Why is remote work better than working from home? Many people close themselves off from working from home, fearing that they will sink in their responsibilities or that they will be consumed by monotony.
Without fear, we’re about to present you with a number of pluses that will show you that working remotely is something really enjoyable and useful – for both employee and employer.
Take our word for it, you won’t go back to working in office buildings.
Your company can gain
First of all, let’s start with the advantages that the employer itself gains. Your company is short of specialists and you yourself have been recruiting for several months and can’t find anyone suitable? This is no longer a problem. By introducing the possibility of remote working, you can gain specialists from all over Poland and even from all over the world. Moreover, you do not need to organise a physical workplace for such a person in the office, so you can employ more people. Such a move will certainly contribute to the rapid growth of your business. Currently, many companies choose to carry out remote recruitment, just like Haergi. Our team is made up of people from all over Poland. In urgent situations, we arrange an online meeting and then discuss the most important issues concerning the further plans of our company.
In addition, remote work reduces redundancies and holidays among employees. Thanks to the possibility to stay at home and combine work with conditions suitable for recovery, employees do not decide to go on sick leave, L4. This was shown by a study conducted by the University of Warsaw for the report ,,Przyszłość pracy w sektorze finansowym”.
Working in different parts of the world
It is time to look at the advantages an employee gains. No more worrying about holidays or free time for yourself. You can work from literally anywhere in the world – starting from your favourite café in the city, ending in sunny Greece. It is up to you to organise your work well and fulfil your responsibilities. In this case, moving should not be a problem either, as you can still work for the same company, but from your computer. This is why as many as 57% of the respondents appreciated the flexible working hours and the possibility to adapt it to their private life.
Sandra from our team, while on an 8-day holiday in Turkey, was working on a regular basis and relaxing at the same time. The same is true for the rest of our team. This just goes to show that remote working has no barriers – all you need to have is good organisation and the ability to manage your time.
Good start
Remote working has also given a better start to students who choose to study in different parts of Poland and often find it difficult to find their first professional job. Currently, we can find many advertisements on popular websites with remote work opportunities, where they are looking for new, young employees. Such an option is a good factor for gaining first experience, without stress and in a pleasant, home-like atmosphere. In smaller cities, the job market is truncated. There is certainly not much room for future journalists or PR specialists, for example. Many humanities graduates choose to work online and thus fulfil their dreams – they work as editors in Warsaw magazines or as young social media specialists.
More pleasant work
You work in a place that influences your efficiency. You perform your tasks in an environment that is friendly to you, which means that if you like to work to loud music or in complete silence, you have the option to do so when working remotely. If you have a favourite corner in your home to work in, this will certainly have a much greater impact on your productivity. The room of one of our colleagues, although very small, consists of more than 20 green flowers and is in the attic. Working in it makes her calm down quickly and it is easier for her to focus on her tasks. In addition, she repeatedly mentions that she feels much more comfortable in it than in office buildings or when working in groups. This is another reason for choosing to make the transition, to working from home. It is simply more pleasant.
Creativity
Office rooms are not always attractive, making work in such places tedious and uninteresting. With remote work, on the other hand, you can provide yourself with spaces, objects and other elements that will influence your creativity and stimulate the generation of new ideas. This not only benefits you, but also your company, which, thanks to your commitment and ingenuity, can spread its wings.
Working remotely has become so enjoyable that most employees even fear returning to their offices. They are frightened by the prospect of routine, everyday life and lack of convenience. Tomek, who used to work in an office in the centre of Warsaw, after switching to working from home, cannot imagine going back to the grey everyday life. As he says himself – I save time on standing in traffic jams, and thanks to this I can devote it to other duties, such as searching for information for the work I will be doing later. The same goes for working during the day – he is rested and has the energy to pursue his hobbies, or simply take long walks. His day has become more structured and he has become a more productive and happier worker. After all, it has not been known for a long time that a happy and appreciated employee is a good employee.
